Charlie Lee is a computer scientist by trade, working for Google for around a decade writing code for Chrome OS. However, after becoming interested in Bitcoin, Charlie Lee released Litecoin in 2011. Charlie Lee never held an ICO, instead he began selling Litecoin to the public after only mining 150 coins.
He currently serves as the managing director of the Litecoin Foundation. As of 2013, Lee also works for Coinbase. In December 2017, Lee announced on Reddit that he had sold almost all of his Litecoin holdings after a perceived conflict of interest. Litecoin Core is the official Litecoin wallet available on their website. It is a free to use desktop app.
