Bitcoin to be featured on 60 Minutes next weekend?

A rumor is spreading on Crypto Twitter that 60 Minutes will be doing a segment about Bitcoin this weekend. Barry Silbert, CEO of the Digital Currency Group, dropped the rumors on Twitter today.

60 Minutes is a news show on CBS Network with feature segments, interviews and investigating reports. It's in the top 10 of best viewed shows in the United States. Last season, an average of 11.4 million viewers watched the episodes of 60 Minutes.

The crypto community is divided about Bitcoin being featured in 60 Minutes. Some say the show will probably only focus on the negative sides of cryptocurrency, while others think it doesn't matter whether it is a positive or negative report: mainstream talk about Bitcoin is always good for crypto.

A segment about Bitcoin on 60 Minutes would be the close of a very bullish week for BTC. On Monday, Bitcoin saw one of its best news days in history, with Bakkt announcing it will launch its futures platform for testers in July, eBay hinting at accepting cryptocurrencies, WholeFoods and other big retailers starting to accept BTC, ETH, BCH and GUSD, and Microsoft announcing their plans to build on the Bitcoin blockchain.

As a result, Bitcoin juped over $8000, with altcoins now following the moves of BTC.
