Bitcoin breaks through $6,000 and hits a 6-month high!

The world's number one cryptocurrency finally broke through $6,000 today, a price level the crypto community hasn't seen since November 14, 2018.

At 00:57 UTC on Thursday, Bitcoin broke through the $6,000 price mark, a level that according to many analysts highlights the official end of crypto winter.

Bitcoin saw its price reach as high as $6,076, within less than 30 minutes, its highest price since November 14, 2018.

BTC is currently trading at around $6,065.05, and is showing a 3.44% gain on the day, with a total market capitalization of $107.2 billion.

Despite the latest negative headlines, Bitcoin is continuing its momentum and pushing for higher prices. Clearly Bitcoin has stopped caring about bad news, something the well-known crypto analyst and trader Alex Kruger pointed out earlier today.

The total capitalization of the cryptocurrency market increased by around $5 billion during today’s uptick to where it sits now at a value of $188.6 billion.

The crypto community has been on a rollercoaster of late, with the Tether and Bitfinex fraud news, quickly followed by the Binance hack, which saw 7000 BTC going up in smoke.
