CZ wants to raise money for anyone being sued by Craig Wright

In a recent Twitter poll, Binance chief executive Changpeng Zhao asked the community if the Binance Charity Foundation should raise money to help cover the legal fees for anyone being sued by Craig Wright.

For anyone who’s missed out, Craig Wright has filed lawsuits against several prominent members of the crypto space, including Hodlonaut – creator of the lightning torch, Vitalik Buterin, Bitcoin podcaster Peter McCormack and Chepicap, for calling out Wright’s claims to be Satoshi Nakamoto.

In response, CZ states that Wright “is picking on people who have a hard time fronting their legal fees,” and has left the decision of whether or not to get involved up to crypto Twitter. The Binance chief explains that the donations will be sent to a selected lawyer directly from the Binance Charity with the proper verifications and tracked on the blockchain.

He adds that “the loser (CSW) will eventually have to cover these legal fees,” at which point the funds can be returned to the donors or given to charity. To kick everything off, CZ has promised to donate $10,000 worth of BNB, believing that since enough funds have been raised, the lawsuits will stop.

The community has rallied behind CZ:

After being up for less than an hour, the poll is already nearing 1,000 votes. Time will tell what the community decides.
