Liverpool FC responds to misunderstanding around Tron partnership

Last week, some of the top crypto platforms received what looked like invitations from Liverpool Football Club. One of these platforms was TRON. Sometime later, however, Liverpool came out saying they weren’t interested in collaborating with TRON, leading to much confusion, CryptoDaily reports.

Now, a spokesperson from Liverpool has confirmed that the club only sent the invitations in order to gain a better understanding of heir company and blockchain technology to keep up with recent tech trends. When Tron founder Justin Sun received the invitation, he excitedly sent out the following tweet:

The spokesperson said:

“We do regularly engage with lots of companies to better understand their business and we have extended an invitation to TRON—along with many others. To be clear, no discussions have taken place.”

The confusion this caused led many to accuse Sun of attempting to hype up his project. However, as it turns out, the whole thing was just a misunderstanding.
