VeChain 'wrote more transactions than Bitcoin' after Deloitte migration

Deloitte, one of the Big Four accounting firms, last week announced the migration of their blockchain solutions from Ethereum to VeChain. Now the company says VeChain had more transactions over the weekend than Bitcoin.

According to Deloitte's Cillian Leonowicz, VeChain 'managed to execute more than 20 smart contract transactions per second', outperforming Bitcoin. Leonowicz praises VeChain, DNV GL Platform and EMEA Blockchain Lab for this achievement. The increase in transactions is likely a result of Deloitte migrating to the VeChain Thor blockchain.

The event occured on April 27, the first day ever VeChain wrote more transactions than Bitcoin. While Bitcoin had just over 359.000 transactions, VeChain recorded close to 397.000 transactions. As this Reddit post points out, the transaction value on VeChain was a lot lower than the transaction value of Bitcoin.

Milestone: First time ever that VeChain wrote more transactions than bitcoin (in 24 hours) from r/Vechain

Last week, Chepicap reported on the announcement of Deloitte during the VeChain Summit that it will migrate from Ethereum to VeChain. Deloitte said VeChain has advanced features that makes them a much more interesting blockchain than Ethereum.

VeChain also closed a partnership with BMW, and is working together with PriceWaterhouse Coopers, another Big Four company, for quite a while already. Next to that, VeChain also teamed up with Adidas and HBO to create a special Game of Thrones Sneaker.
