HTC to launch a new blockchain phone later this year

HTC reveals plan to launch another blockchain phone later this year, despite the loss they experienced in Q4 2018.

It seems like HTC tries to dominate the not-yet popular market, the blockchain phone market.

After launching the first blockchain phone in the world, the Exodus 1 last year, the Taiwanese electronics company reveals the plan to have another one coming to the market before the year ends.

It was the company’s decentralized chief officer, Phil Chen who spilled the news when he became a keynote speaker at an investment forum held in Taipei last Friday.

Although he didn’t give detail on the new phone as well as the exact launch timeline, it wouldn’t be deviated from the first edition, the Exodus 1, which featured hardware that supports decentralized apps (dApps), along with a cryptocurrency wallet.

In addition, Chen also stated that the Exodus 1 fulfilled the company’s expectation of a blockchain phone, despite not being able to mitigate their $90.6 million loss in Q4 2018, as reported by The Next Web.
