Craig Wright: McAfee is a conman, and Binance is a money launderer

After weeks of laying low Craig Wright (or Faketoshi, as he is known within the crypto community) has peeked his head above hiding once again, hitting back at Binance and some of the notable members of crypto’s inner circle who havn’t been shy about challenging Wright’s claim to the crypto throne.

It would perhaps be disingenuous to say that the dust has settled on the recent Craig Wright “situation,” but while the debacle continues it has died down somewhat in the eyes of the community… but not for long. Back to reignite the flames (and pour a lot more fuel on the fire) is Craig Wright himself.

In an interview with Finder, Wright divulged his true feelings about Binance, the BSV delisting, and the supposed Satoshi confidant, John McAfee.

Kicking off with the delisting of his Bitcoin SV (BSV) project from multiple exchanges, including, Binance, Shapeshift and Kraken; Wright accuses the aforementioned of wash trading and manipulation, stating that Binance and other contemporary exchanges are “basically money laundering organizations.”

"You have things like CZ there and Binance which is super bucket shop which are basically money laundering organizations. They wash trades and money laundering. That’s how they make money,” he said.

Wright also added that Binance manipulates pumps via (as he eloquently puts it) “pre-announcement stuff,”

Interestingly, Wright also complains about these organizations trying to ‘silence him’ by choosing to delist BSV:

“This is why they don’t want me talking. They want to shut me up. Because this is a criminal organization,” he said.

The keen among you will note the almost overwhelming irony of these words.

In the same breath, Wright targets another of his detractors, aiming this time at John McAfee, who recently came out against Wright’s claim that he is Satoshi Nakamoto.

McAfee offered “proof” that Wright was not Satoshi by proclaiming to know the enigma personally, and threating to release their identity:

“So they [Binance] do basically the pre-announcement stuff, some of which Mr. Conman John McAfee there helps with… he will scam something up pump up the price, get people to put their savings and investments into, and they will short the crap out it,” said Wright.

Of course, for those who aren’t fully aware of the situation surrounding Wright, see below for a TLDR

Wright claims to be Bitcoin's creator, Satoshi Nakamoto. A few of the community such as Hodlonaut - the creator of the lightning torch, Vitalik Buterin - creator of Ethereum, and Bitcoin podcaster Peter McCormack, challenged the claim. In turn, Wright reigns down a hail of lawsuits (Chepicap also received a letter from Wright's legal team, over our use of his community popularized moniker “Faketoshi”.)

Shortly after this, in a show of solidarity, multiple exchanges such, Kraken, Shapeshift, and Binance delisted Wright’s BSV project.

Now, all that is left are the court cases themselves, and if Peter McCormack’s legally sanctioned response to Wright's libel accusation is anything to go by, then they should be pretty funny…
