Microsoft sponsors Ethereal Virtual Hackathon, total prize of $67K

Microsoft is one of the main sponsors of the Ethereal Virtual Hackathon that offers a total prize of $67,000.

The Ethereal Virtual Hackathon will end in a couple of days. To crypto enthusiasts, it means there’s still time to earn cryptocurrency, without having to delve on technical analysis.

With 2 main sponsors, Microsoft and ConsenSys, the contest gives away over $40,000, which will be paid out in Dai stablecoin or Ethereum.

The 2-week contest will pick 3 winners that will have the chance to present their projects to the Ethereum Community in the Ethereal Summit, which will be held in New York on May 10-11.

Both major sponsors have different emphasis on how they choose their winners. ConsenSys value projects that can imagine the reinvention of the financial system with high bounties, whereas Microsoft’s interest varies from smart contracts for shipping containers to weather insurance.

JP Morgan can also be seen of joining the fun by awarding innovations, such as the integration of Quorum with Metamask or developing privacy functionality.

Five days to the last day of the hackathon, but there are still lots that can be earned. Check out Gitcoin’s website for more information on the Ethereal Virtual Hackathon.
