Jimmy Song speaks out against #DelistBSV

Influential crypto figure Jimmy Song has expressed his views on the recent drive to get exchanges to delist Bitcoin Cash SV (BSV). The Bitcoin Core contributor claimed that the process of delisting cryptos is "ultimately bad".

Bitcoin Cash SV (BSV) is backed primarily by the controversial Craig Wright, who has faced much criticism in the past for his largely discredited claims that he is Bitcoin founder Satoshi Nakamoto. He has stepped up the conflict recently with a series of high-profile lawsuits, and the community has responded with calls to delist BSV from exchanges. Binance, Kraken and Shapeshift have all taken this step, in an effort to limit Wright's influence and presence.

As Song tells it, a movement to censor particular bad actors isn't necessarily bad in itself, but it may contribute to a false impression of how the crypto space should operate. It could further the influence that Binance and other centralized exchanges have over crypto, by contributing to the idea that they serve a role as gatekeepers.

Observers on Twitter mostly agreed with the idea that exchanges shouldn't have too much influence, but claimed that the responsibility was on users to not trust too much in centralized entities, as well as stressing the importance of removing people like Wright.
