Gambling brought 350,000 new users to dApps in Q1 2019 has released its market report for the first quarter of 2019. The data shows that gambling remains the main draw for users of dApps, accounting for around 350,000 new members of the decentralized software eco-system.

Q1 of 2019 saw a total of 504 new decentralized applications added to's database. The vast majority of these were built on the Ethereum (ETH) blockchain, although many were capable of expanding into multiple chains.

Despite its popularity with developers, ETH is losing ground to other networks in terms of actual dApp usage. Nearly 600 ETH dApps had no activity in the first quarter of 2019. EOS has the highest proportion of active dApps, with around 95% seeing a transaction in the last three months. Tron (TRX) dApps had the highest number of active users, at over 300,000, and on March 15 they saw a total transaction volume of $91 million, which is the new record.

After gambling, decentralized exchanges and games were the most popular categories of dApp. They each brought around 90,000 new users to the overall dApp eco-system.
