Youtube star PewDiePie set to move to blockchain platform DLive

YouTube super star and the most subscribed account on YouTube, PewDiePie has announced he will be moving to blockchain based streaming platform DLive.

In a recent announcement, Variety says the YouTube star will be making the move to the new live-streaming video service that offers better terms and conditions for creators.

PewDiePie, whose real name is Felix Kjellberg rose to prominence on YouTube after streaming his games on YouTube, the streamer has since amassed a whopping 93 million subscribers.

PewDiePie will commence his new streaming journey with DLive from April 14, with a live stream on the platform, under his username dlive.tv/pewdiepie.

DLive currently runs on the Lino Blockchain Network and does not take a cut of streamers revenue generated by live-streams. This is a major step for streamers who currently make use of platforms such as Twitch, which takes 50% of streamers revenue cut.

Kjelleberg commented on the move, saying “DLive is great for me because I’m treated like a real partner just like all of the other streamers on their unique platform.”

PewDiePie also announced he will be donating between $10,000 and $50,000 in Lino Points to other creators who are live-streaming on the platform to encourage adoption.
