Cardano Foundation announces Ledger Nano S support for ADA

Today the Cardano Foundation along with EMURGO announced on their website that the Ledger Nano S now officially supports the ADA cryptocurrency thanks to the integration of the Yoroi wallet, which was developed in house by EMURGO.

The announcement wasn't a total surprise, as it was known that the Foundation and EMURGO were working towards this end goal. In the blog post, EMURGO’s CTO, Nicolas Arqueros is quoted:

"I am delighted at this integration finally being released to the public. This is an event that many people have been looking forward to for the past year. I am especially thrilled to see so many teams come together and cooperate on what really is ground breaking news in the industry, and foreshadow many more exciting commercial developments for Cardano in 2019."

The reveal also gives resources for learning more about ADA and Hardware wallets, as well as links to source code for the Yoroi wallet, to provide transparency and a sense of security to users.

This is a great step forward for Cardano, and should help promote general adoption. As always, stay here with Chepicap for all Cardano updates!
