South Africa is #1 for crypto adoption

It has been reported by Crypto Briefing that recently, a Hootsuite study found that South Africa is leading the world in terms of internet users who own cryptocurrency. In fact it comes in with something like twice the global average for crypto penetration!

The report found that 10.7% of South African internet users own cryptocurrency. This may still sound small, but the global average is just 5.5%. For context, South Korea came in at 6.3 percent, the U.S at 5.3 percent and Japan at just 4.3 percent.

Much like in the rest of the world, Bitcoin is the crypto most commonly being used. Out of step of most of the world however is the way crypto interest has continued to expand even during this bear market. This may point to the fact people here are finding real use cases for cryptocurrency.

In any event, South Africa is standing out as the global leader in general cryptocurrency adoption. Will the rest of the world catch up? Stick right here with Chepicap for any and all updates!
