Binance Coin (BNB) down 5%, Bitcoin struggles to hodl $4,000

Bitcoin is now losing about 1% in the last 24 hours, as its price sits only slightly above the psychological line of $4,000 after failing to gain hold over $4,100 during the latest push, with its market cap still over $70 billion.

The rest of the market has followed the downtrend, with the total market capitalization falling all the way from $142 billion to levels just above $138 billion. There is an apparent lack of fundamental insights triggering this descend, as most of the latest news were of a generally bullish nature as many in the space are calling for a new alt season.

On the top 10 cryptos by market cap, swarmed with red except for the case of Tether, Bianance Coin (BNB) has taken the largest losses in so far, of about 5%. Bitcoin is actually performing well in the middle of today’s storm, after having been losing market dominance to altcoins over the past few months.

Currently only about 15 coins of the first hundred by market capitalization are in green. Maximine Coin and Ravencoin are performing well in the middle of such rainy day, with gains of 13 and 10% respectively. On the other side of the table, Huobi Token and Golem are packing the largest losses of the day, between 7 and 9%.

Ontology, which only a few hours  ago was spiking over 25%, is now in red as well with losses close to 2%, threatening its recently gained 17th spot from NEO.
