Coinbase announces their custodial service now has OTC integration

Today Coinbase announced on twitter and in their blog that they have integrated Over-The-Counter (OTC) trading into their Coinbase Custody service. What this means is institutional traders can now access their cold storage for liquidity in just a few clicks.

The news really only affects institutional traders as the service is agency only and in order to use it the relevant parties must pass Coinbase's KYC and AML requirements. This has caused some on twitter to wonder why the service is being described as "anonymous."

The announcement didn't make much of a splash on twitter, with most users just responding by asking when their favorite coins will be listed.

Still, having direct access to cold storage will no doubt be useful for many institutions and hence this move may prove popular for many of Coinbase's customers. Will other companies do the same? Stick with Chepicap for all updates!
