Brave will pay you 70% of its browser ad revenue

Brave, the company behind Basic Attention Token (BAT) and the Brave browser, has connected its browser ad technology to your wallet so you can get paid 70% of its ad revenue.

According to CNET, the Brave browser, which otherwise blocks conventional website ads by default, started testing ads in January, that appear as notification pop-ups for those who activate the system.

The Brave startup, led by former Mozilla Chief Executive Brendan Eich, has now expanded that test so users can get paid if they see or click on the ads, though the test is limited to the developer test version of Brave for now.

Brave will keep 30% of the revenue and will send a whopping 70% to its users, however, Brendan Eich said to not expect too much, pointing to the expectation that users could earn up to $5 per month, paid in the Basic Attention Token.

'Brave's ads are designed to preserve privacy, with the browser itself matching ads to its own assessment of your interests without telling advertisers or website publishers anything about you other than the verification that you saw an ad. It's the polar opposite of today's online advertising technology, perhaps best exemplified by Facebook's personal data collection.'

Recently Chepicap reported that Brave, has partnered with advertising and data company TAP Network, which will allow users to directly redeem their BAT tokens for real-world rewards.

Soon users of BAT will be able to trade in their crypto in exchange for hotel stays worldwide, restaurant vouchers, exclusive entertainment experiences, as well as gift cards from top national brands including Amazon, Starbucks, Uber, Apple and many more, thanks to the TAP Network which has partnerships with over 250,000 brands.

'Consumer data is being misused by major internet companies and TAP Network empowers consumers to directly take control of their own data and get rewarded from top brands', said Lin Dai, co-founder and CEO of TAP Network. 'We are excited to partner with Brave to further the mission of protecting consumer privacy, and rewarding users for participating in the advertising ecosystem.'
