ETH vs TRON: What's the beef between Vitalik and Justin Sun about?

Almost every week, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin and TRON founder Justin Sun are bashing each other on Twitter. What's the beef between the founders of the two competing projects about?

While most may consider both parties to simply be having harmless digs at one another, the battle for supremacy has been going on for over a year now with both Buterin and Sun having a lot to say about one another and their projects.

Justin Sun calls TRON better than Ethereum

Back in early 2018, Sun tweeted that TRON (TRX) is better than Ethereum (ETH) stating several features that included transactions per second, coinburn and user count. While the tweet posted a pretty infographic to go along with the tweet and could have been ignored by the ETH founder, Vitalik fired shots back at Justin Sun for their white paper. Parts of the Tron whitepaper had previously been reported as plagiarised and Vitalik took the opportunity to trash TRON in a follow up tweet.

TRX community praise Vitalik for supporting BitTorrent, Vitalik mocks Coin shillers

It is no secret Vitalik has been a fan of decentralization applications for years. Previously he used the file sharing service BitTorrent as an active example of how it can work and comparing it to digital currencies. Of course, since that time, TRON's Justin Sun has conveniently acquired the company and released the BitTorrent Token (BTT).

The TRON army wasted no time sharing that Vitalik had previously praised BitTorrent several times.

Sun also got involved by thanking Vitalik for his support. Of course the sarcasm was clearly evident. Vitalik hit back with a tweet related to coin shilling and starting a new coin out of hype. This tweet had to be further explained to ensure the point was received by the Justin Sun army.

Justin Sun celebrates gaining more twitter followers than Vitalik

As if Twitter followers prove anything in the crypto space, Sun felt the need to brag about surpassing Vitaliks twitter following recently. After surpassing Vitalik 833,000 followers, Sun took to twitter with his army to celebrate the "milestone"

Back to the BitTorrent shilling, this time compared to avocados from Buterin

Buterin has since referred back to the comments he made about BitTorrent back in 2017. The TRON army continue to sarcastically praise the the Ethereum founder for backing the project. Buterin recently came back to the topic to reiterate he praised the project before Tron founder Justin Sun had acquired the company. Vitalik compared BitTorrent to avocados, stating that "This is like implying that because I like avocados, I approve of everyone who has ever bought an avocado."

Following the tweet, Mega-hype-master-shiller himself, Justin Sun jumped on board to get his piece of the action, claiming that "I am happy to give you free avocados for sure!"

Twitter fans on both sides joined in with their two cents.

It is clear that both founders have different approaches when it comes to their own projects, but one thing they both have in common, is that they are both actively pushing for mass crypto adoption.

The widespread beef between both continues to grow, and the crypto community will be here to watch and take sides. Ethereum currently holds #2 spot in terms of market cap, with Justin Suns TRON sitting at #10.
