Former Goldman Sachs executive joins blockchain and crypto hedge fund

Marco Lim, a former Goldman Sachs executive, has joined a Hong Kong-based blockchain and cryptocurrency-focused hedge fund MaiCapital, as a managing partner.

According to FinanceMagnates, the co-founder of MaiCapital, Benedict Ho, said that Lim will be focusing his efforts on growing the asset manager’s business through sales and marketing efforts.

He further added that Lim will focus primarily on marketing and establishing strategic partnerships for MaiCapital and its group companies.

'His long-standing investment banking relationships and market experience should bolster MaiCapital’ leading position in the digital asset management space', he said.

Lim previously spent almost seven years with Goldman Sachs as an Executive Director, where he was responsible for driving the investment bank’s electronic fixed income, currency and commodities business.

Lim also worked as a senior executive in Credit Suisse’s foreign exchange (FX) division, before his Goldman Sachs days.

MaiCapital is currently focusing its efforts on investing in the developing blockchain industry and cryptocurrency market.
