7 Ethereum long-term price predictions by crypto experts: $1 million?!

What price could Ethereum reach in the future? Will ETH drop further or return to the +$1000 levels? These are 7 Ethereum long-term (price) predictions by cryptocurrency experts.

Jeremy Rubin: The collapse is inevitable, it will go to $0

Jeremy Rubin is the author of this prediction, published in Techcrunch about 6 months ago. Judging from a recent tweet, it seems as if Rubin has not changed his mind yet:

The article mostly circles around the idea that even if the decentralized app ecosystem that Ethereum is trying to catalyze succeeds, that would not be enough by itself to propel the value of ETH.

It seems as if in Rubin’s mind, the store of value and transaction options that Ethereum allows would be insufficient to compete with other similar projects while sustaining dapps that don’t increase ETH valuation: “If all the applications and their transactions can run without ETH, there’s no reason for ETH to be valuable unless the miners enforce some sort of racket to require users to pay in ETH”.

Roger Ver: Ethereum could overtake Bitcoin

The main visible head behind Bitcoin Cash said the following in an interview with British tabloid The Independent:

I see it happening, and I believe it’s imminent […] Ethereum could overtake bitcoin by the end of the year and bitcoin cash could do the same before 2020.”

It should be noted that the forecast for Ethereum has not been very accurate so far, as it refered to 2018. However, the trend idea remains relevant. Ver appears to be rather optimistic as well for Bitcoin Cash, but it should be taken into account that the interview was published last year on the 10th of May, before the fork situation went a bit out of hands.

Digging back into his tweetline, it appears as if Ver’s appreciation for Ethereum is a strong, long lasting conviction:

Cryptomocho: claims to be long since January 2019

Crypto Twitter can sometimes be a weird, but special place. As surprising as it might seem, there are accounts such as @cryptomocho, with a lysergic animal as avatar that are taken seriously by traders and other members of the space alike when it comes to allocating their funds. On the 7th of January, with ETH hovering around the $150 range, he appears to have opened a long position:

With more than 120k followers and a distinct tweeting style, Mocho is mostly dedicated to altcoins and Ethereum seems to be one of his favorites in recent times.

Steven Nerayoff: ETH to $3,000

Nerayoff, who apparently claims to be a co-creator of Ethereum despite some voices limiting his influence to the legal structure on the early days of the project, has displayed strong optimist forecasts for the project before.

On an interview with CNBC, just about a year ago, Nerayoff claimed that there could be a “flippening” of Bitcoin by Ethereum before the end of 2018, much in the line of Ver's opinion. He also stated that price could triple in the best case scenario, at a time when ether was priced at around $1,000.

John McAfee: Ethereum will keep climbing

A well-known crypto bull, John McAfee has shown plenty of appreciation for Ehtereum in the past and continues to do so currently. His latest tweet mentioning the second crypto by market cap is unequivocally bullish:

Besides using Ethereum for contractual and transaction purposes, McAfee appears to be confident on the decentralized platform-enabling qualities of Buterin’s token:

Bobby Ullery: $11,375 by 2020

Online analyst Bobby Ullery based a prediction on a model that takes into account the impact of blockchain in global economy and international trade.

The analyst is reported to have predicted recently that Ethereum and Bitcoin combined will hold a market capitalization of $4.5 trillion in 2020, which will equate to 25% of the total cryptocurrency capitalization.

Brian Schuster: $100,000, or even $1 million
By far the biggest Ethereum bull is Brian Schuster, who claims that ETH can eventually reach $100,000 per coin. Schuster, Head of Founder Solutions at Ark Capital LLC, is exploring the scenario that Ethereum could become a store of value, like gold. "This gives us a potential market capitalization of roughly $10 trillion, leading us to believe that the price of Ethereum might rise as high as $100,000 per coin."

Schuster added: "We might even go one step further and say that Ethereum is not like one asset, but an asset to replace all currency that exists. In that case, the market capitalisation would have the potential of reaching, leading us to believe the price of Ethereum might rise as high as $1,000,000 per coin."

Yes, $1 million. Schuster does add a disclaimer to his claims, stating that his price prediction should not be taken 'as gospel'. "My answer is simple: I don’t know, and I’m not going to tell you that it will. But what I will tell you is how to figure this out for yourself by understanding market capitalisation."
