Afri Schoedon: 'I did not quit social media, but I did quit Ethereum!'

The 'Afri Schoedon story' continues. Schoedon took to both Twitter and Reddit to explain that he didn't quit social media, but that he did quit Ethereum.

'I did not quit social media. I quit Ethereum', Schoedon posted on both Twitter and Reddit.

'I did not go dark, I just left the community. I am no longer coordinating hard-forks, building testnets, or contributing otherwise. I did not work on Polkadot, I never did, I worked on Ethereum. I did not hate Ethereum, I loved it.'

The last few days have been tumultuous for the Ethereum core developer, ever since he decided to announce to the world that he was no longer interested in responding on Gitter, Skype, Discord, Slack, Wire, Twitter, and Reddit.

Schoedon stated that due to the ongoing online criticism directed at his person, he had decided to take a step back from all social media channels.

That had the opposite effect unfortunately. Many called him out for being too sensitive and would have liked to see him face the critics head on, instead of simply deciding to turn off, and tune out.

However, Schoedon seems eager to move on from Ethereum.

In another tweet he explained that from 2015 up till today all of his work, including the hard fork coordinations, were unpaid with the sole exception for his work on the Parity Ethereum client.

'I ask for understanding that I am no longer interested in spending my free time here.'

Schoedon further pointed out that he now has a lot of free time on his hands and seems therefore on the lookout for a new exciting project.

'If you have an exciting project that really matters and does not come with a token, send me a mail.'

Many of his followers thanked him for all of his hard work and wished him all the best in his future endeavors.

Despite the fact that this story has been 'hot' for the last few day, as of yet, there still is no response from the Ethereum team.
