Trons Justin Sun pledges $250k to the ALS association, CZ pledges $150k

Tron Founder Justin Sun announced that in support ALS research to find a cure, he will be donating $250,000 on behalf of Tron and BitTorrent. Binance's Changpeng Zhao also pledged to match $150,000 in support of the cause.

The announcement sees two of the top crypto influencers putting their projects to a good cause in an attempt to focus on research for ALS. The ALS association describes ALS on their website as "Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to their death."

Tron have launched the #VoiceYourLove campaign in order to raise funds on the blockchain for ALS research. Currently people can donate through their credit cards, PayPal or Tron.

The awareness is sponsored by Tron, BitTorrent, Binance Charity, and Global KWT.

Sun announced that he would be pledging $250,000 on behalf of Tron and BitTorrent, he also mentioned that he would be passing the torch on to Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao, Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin and Friends sitcom star and actress Courtney Cox, who is also heavily involved in the ALS Association.

Binance's CZ has responded and will be donating $150,000 worth of Binance Coin (BNB) to the cause. CZ also thanked Sun, saying "Thank you for using the 100% transparent @BinanceBCF platform, and let's use #crypto for social impact!"
