Chepicap recently reported on an engineer and former BitTorrent employee who lost $422,000 when QuadrigaCX announced it was illiquid. Now, Justin Sun has stepped up to help and offered the engineer, named Tong Zhou, a job back at BitTorrent, which Sun now owns.
Tong Zhou was an ex-@BitTorrent employee and I am saddened by the news of the loss of his life savings in Quadriga CX's digital EX. I sympathize with his predicament and would like to hereby extend an offer to him to once again return to #BitTorrent. #TRON https://t.co/TFh41DWD77— Justin Sun (@justinsuntron) February 11, 2019
Zhou reached a certain level of fame after it came out that he had lost his life savings, about $422,000, on the QuadrigaCX exchange which has famously lost access to almost $200 million worth of crypto due to the death of its founder. The gesture of course got commentary from the rest of crypto twitter.
That’s amazing @justinsuntron your so humble bro , helping him would be amazing— Crypto Knightrider (@cryptokrider) February 11, 2019
Everything is purely marketing. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but if we wanted to be humble then I'm sure he could have reached out to him with his offer without letting it be known to the world— Peter Møller Hansen (@Ebbeneser) February 11, 2019
Whether publicity or not, it does seem like a nice gesture to someone who is down on their luck. Stick with Chepicap for any and all updates on all fallout from the QuadrigaCX fiasco!
