BitTorrent announced that its native token, BitTorrent Token, based on the Tron protocol, is now supported by CoinPayments’ crypto payments gateway.
According to a press release by CoinPayments, the peer-to-peer BitTorrent file sharing protocol, announced that BTT is now supported by CoinPayments.
'CoinPayments is proud to support the BitTorrent project by integrating their token into our platform to provide BitTorrent (BTT) payment processing capabilities.'
BitTorrent already collaborated with CoinPayments on supporting Tron, Bitcoin and Binance Coin payments for premium services.
CoinPayments crypto payment gateway is an integrated payment gateway for cryptocurrencies, which supports currently a staggering 1205 cryptocurrencies.

The founder of Tron and CEO of BitTorrent, Justin Sun, clarified the roadmap for tokenization of the BitTorrent ecosystem, stating that 'the partnership with CoinPayments is a bid to make the BitTorrent Token liquid in the online marketplace before it is fully integrated into our desktop and mobile products.'
Just a few days ago, however, Chepicap reported that Simon Morris, the former Chief Strategy Officer of BitTorrent, said that BitTorrent is no longer important.
'It has been losing importance gradually over the last years', Morris said. 'Despise its large user base, the platform has lost importance mostly due to the changes in the media industry, which do not make it a threat anymore.'
Bram Cohen, the creator of the peer-to-peer BitTorrent file sharing protocol, took to Twitter at the end of January to tweet to his 31.6K Twitter followers that he is no longer affiliated with Bittorrent and has never been affiliated with Tron or Justin Sun.
In an effort to emphasize the importance of this message, Cohen even pinned his tweet on Twitter.
