Crypto responds to Twitter, Cash CEO Jack Dorsey's pro-BTC interview

The crypto world has come together recently over Jack Dorsey, the CEO of Twitter and the payment app Square, and his recent bullish take on Bitcoin in an interview with Joe Rogan.

Jack Dorsey, the CEO of Twitter, appeared recently on the popular podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, where he discussed his optimistic vision for Bitcoin.

The podcast, which boasts over 4 million listeners, features the comedian Rogan interviewing a number of different figures from across media, comedy, technology, and political commentary. Jack Dorsey, in his appearance, noted that Bitcoin, which is ‘something that was born on the Internet, was developed on the Internet, was tested on the Internet... it is of the Internet,’ deserves to be the de facto currency of the web.

Jack Dorsey, also known by his Twitter handle @Jack, previously has iterated the idea that Bitcoin will and should likely serve as the internet’s ‘native currency’ to Bloomberg. Furthermore, according to CNBC, Jack spoke at a Consensus conference and laid bare his pro-crypto positions. In his position as CEO of Square, whose Cash payment platform is growing to compete with Paypal and Venmo, he introduced Bitcoin trading into Cash’s app, which sold over $30 million worth of the cryptocurrency.

Crypto has responded quite positively to Jack’s bullishness, with CZ heaping praise (through Jack’s own Twitter platform no less) on the CEO for dealing in BTC before accepting credit cards.

Notably, Jack mentioned BTC in particular, but made sure to note that he is agnostic as to which crypto will be the internet’s ‘native currency.’

In fact, Jack mentioned that Bitcoin was designed for transactions, but is being used as ‘digital gold,’ bought and hoarded for speculation purposes. Jack certainly believes that in the next decade a cryptocurrency will take its place as online money, and the crypto community has started to let him know which token they believe is best designed to take on that role.
