Morgan Creek Digital backed a $3.1 million investment round for RealBlocks

Morgan Creek Digital, co-founded by Anthony Pompliano, backed a $3.1 million investment round for tokenized real-estate startup RealBlocks.

According to Coindesk, RealBlocks said that the funding round was led by investment firm Science Inc., while other investors included Morgan Creek Digital, Zelkova Ventures, Ulu Ventures and Cross Culture Ventures.

The RealBlocks ethereum-based real estate platform presents a unique approach to fundraising for real estate investors who are provided with access to offerings from private equity funds worldwide. RealBlocks allows firms to raise capital through tokenized securities, while investors can also directly purchase real estate using both cryptos and fiat currency.

Morgan Creek Digital founder and partner Anthony Pompliano said they invested in RealBlocks because its core belief is that 'every stock, bond, currency, and commodity will be tokenized at some point in the future.'

Perrin Quarshie, Founder and CEO of the startup said that with the support of their strategic investors, they are accelerating development of their product and adoption of blockchain technology for real estate.

'This is a great opportunity to improve the investment experience for both sponsors and investors while also minimizing friction throughout the entirety of the process', he said.
