Belarus's largest bank is interested in launching its own cryptocurrency exchange

According to local news site BelTA, Belarus’s largest bank, Belarusbank is considering launching its own cryptocurrency exchange.

Chairman of the bank Viktor Ananich noted that digitization will be one of the focus areas for the bank this year. “We are considering a possibility to establish a cryptocurrency exchange. We are working on it,” Ananich said.

In addition, the bank is also working with mobile service providers to expand its offerings to include virtual cards which will replace standard debit and credit cards. Ananich noted how quickly traditional finance and banking are changing, stating, “at present things are changing very fast and we need to keep up with them.”

Bitcoin News reports that the country’s High-Technologies Park (HTP) is bringing benefits to a number of crypto-related enterprises. Additionally, in November of last year, companies offering initial coin offerings were granted transparent regulations that were developed by the HTP.
