Israeli soccer club Beitar Jerusalem, the biggest club of Jerusalem, had a logo of Bitcoin on their jersey during the game with Maccabi Tel-Aviv on Monday. The BTC logo was visible on the right sleeve of the Beitar shirts.
According to some Redditors, the idea most likely came from Moshe Hogeg, the founder of cryptocurrency project Sirin Labs who bought Beitar Jerusalem in August 2018. Sirin Labs, that has a market cap of $16 million for the SRN token, recently launched the Finney, a blockchain smartphone. FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi was one of the promotors for Sirin Labs.

On the Bitcoin subreddit, not everyone is very fond of Hogeg because of his reputation.
Others appreciate the steps Bitcoin evangelists are making in Israel.
Earlier today, an Israelian news outlet reported that Hogeg was scammed out of 'a large amount of Bitcoin'. The exact amount of Bitcoin that Hogeg lost is unconfirmed, but according to a Facebook post by Hogeg himself in a local Bitcoin community, the amount was significant.
Beitar Jerusalem lost the game at Maccabi Tel-Aviv with 1-0.
