'Making payments will be as easy as sending email' Ripple's Ross D’Arcy says

Ripple sales director Ross D’Arcy, said that Ripple’s main focus is on making the process of sending money and making payments as easy as sending an email.

According to The Daily Hodl, Ross D’Arcy outlined some of the differences between its payment platform and the global payment network Swift.

D'Arcy said that the solutions at Ripple are designed to make banking transactions as easy and as fast as sending an email, which is in strong contrast with the much slower transcations made by Swift.

'3 clicks, 30 seconds, receive a confirmation that the end beneficiary has been paid. So as easy as we can do a voice chat or exchange emails, that’s exactly how we want the payment experience to be', D'Arcy said.

Recently Ripple sales director Ross D’Arcy had said that he believes Swift has too much power to determine the outcome of each individual transaction.

'I think Swift’s a really interesting example. Because Swift, if you think about it, kind of crosses the lines sometime and plays a bit of a political role. We don’t see our customer’s transactions. Our customer’s transactions go over the internet. So Ripple could shut down as a business tomorrow and our customers could still transact using our software. The same wouldn’t be the case with Swift.'

In November Chepicap reported that Brad Garlinghouse said that Ripple is in fact 'taking over swift'.

'I think what we’re doing and executing on a day-by-day basis is, in fact, taking over Swift. In that, we’ve now signed up well over 100 banks. Some of the largest Swift-enabled banks in the world are now using Ripple’s technology.'

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse and Swift CEO Gottfried Leibbrandt will finally be able to air their grievances with one another, and meet face-to-face on a panel called 'Let’s Send the Money' at the Paris Fintech Forum on January 30th.
