Ethereum fork allowing scammers to take advantage

Scammers have caught onto the idea of trying to con users who will be moving tokens before the ethereum upcoming hard fork.

CCN reported that Ethereum Now and Ethereum Classic Vision are both forking away from Ethereum and Ethereum Classic respectively. The reason for them forking from the two original Ethereum projects is due to regular network upgrades in both blockchains.

Both projects are requiring users to login login to their website or metamask application in order to perfom to token swap. The team at Guarda, who provides highly secure and handy solutions with outstanding features to enhance your crypto experience, explained to CCN that both projects are making use of code that in fact captures your private keys and sends them back to the server, “Ethereum Classic Vision looked more solid at the first glace, but the analysis on the code performed by our team has shown that the piece of code provided actually sends your private key data on the crypto project’s servers, masking it as an API token.” Guarda commented.

Metamask has identified Ethnowallet as a "deceptive site" while Firefox has also caught on, both offering warnings for the projects.
