Crypto exchange ad spotted during Manchester City vs. Liverpool game

Reddit and Twitter users have been commenting on the latest limelight appearance of cryptocurrency. In the most important game of the Premier League this year, an exchange ad was shown on one of the fields’ displays.

After yesterday’s inclusion of BitMEX in the front page of The Times, more high impact presence of crypto ads has just been recorded. In the Manchester City vs. Liverpool game that took place yesterday in the City of Manchester Stadium, the message “Trade crypto with confidence” was displayed shortly, together with the logo of Avatrade, an Irish exchange offering Bitcoin, CFD’s and Forex among other products.

Even though it appears from comments on social media that the ad was only displayed on a few ocassions (at least two according to the different match clock display), it is already a relevant event as the game saw the first and second teams in the Premier League facing each other.

Reactions on social media were mostly positive to the ad, with some shout-out going the way of Changpeng Zhao. He did not replied with “Careful what you wish for” this time, sadly for those who want to see Binance sponsoring a football team.

As usual, there was also room for more conservative opinions on the topic.
