According to a blog post just released today, Binance will be offering at least one token launch a month in 2019 on their Launchpad platform. BitTorrent and Fetch.AI will be the first available to the millions of users that the exchange boasts.
BitTorrent is a TRC-10 token based on the Tron blockchain, which is intended to improve download speed, file availability and content creation on a peer-to-peer file sharing network. BTT token will thus be used to incentivize longer seeding periods and the use of faster networks.
Per the Fetch.AI whitepaper, the project aims at leveraging the power of AI and machine learning on the blockchain, with expected use cases in transportation, energy, supply chain and hospitality sectors.
Perhaps with the BUIDL motto in mind, Binance appears to be starting 2019 making a bet on its Launchpad platform. Tokens will be listed after research from their team is completed, and there will be maximum contribution limits to ensure larger possibilities of participation.
On the blog post, several successful use cases of Launchpad are mentioned, such as BREAD and GIFTO, which raised $6 and $3.4 million respectively in a matter of a few minutes, back in December 2017.
A sad note comes from the geographical restrictions to the use of the Launchap platform, which will not be accessible for users coming from Afghanistan, Burundi, Belarus, Central African Republic, Congo, China, Ethiopia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Iraq, Iran, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Lebanon, Sri Lanka, Libya, Serbia, Sudan, Somalia, South Sudan, Syrian Arab Republic, Thailand, Tunisia, Trinidad and Tobago, Ukraine, Uganda, United States, Venezuela, Yemen and Zimbabwe.
