Is Bakkt delaying the launch of its Bitcoin futures platform again?

The Bakkt Exchange launch was set for the 24th January 2019, however, the launch is likely to be delayed yet again by the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, the Intercontinental Exchange.

According to Coindesk, the Intercontinental Exchange has yet to receive the necessary approvals from the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), which might ultimately lead to the delay in the launch of Bakkt.

Even though Bakkt might not yet have received the necessary approvals from the US Commodity and Futures Trading Commission, the worst we can expect is yet another delay of just a few days and Bakkt may still launch somewhere close to the starting days of February 2019.

Bakkt hasn't yet announced a delayed launch date but will most likely do so in the coming few days. This would be the 2nd delay for the launch of Bakkt which was earlier planned to be launched in December 2018.

Cryptocurrency analysts predict that Bakkt will push the adoption of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies to a whole new level with massive institutional adoption. However, another delay might push the price of Bitcoin even further down.

At the same token, not everybody is convinced this news is being conveyed in a truthful manner.
