eToro issues apology to the #XRP Army

The enthusiastic crypto Twitter community that has been referred to as the XRP Army has received an apology from eToro. The online trading platform had released a video which many saw as FUD against Ripple's token.

In the video, which has since been deleted, eToro has suggested that investors diversify their portfolio, and was accompanied by stats about XRP on the platform. It seemed to suggest moving away from XRP, and that hodling the number 2 crypto wasn't the best idea.

After an angry reaction from XRP enthusiasts, eToro has now backtracked and reassured the Army that "we love XRP...XRP is one of our most valued assets". It also praised the strength of the community in its coming together to fight FUD wherever it finds it.

Some observers on Twitter were grateful for the apology, while others still criticized the initial post. Many questioned the ethics of eToro giving out any kind of trading advice, particularly recommendations of diversification, as the platform earns a percentage of every trade that it facilitates.
