Square's BTC trading app tops US downloads chart

Cash App, a payments app that enables users to make different types of fiat and BTC transactions, has seen a surge in downloads over the weekend.

The app was developed in 2015 by financial services firm Square and admits Bitcoin payments since January 2018. As we reported, Cash App has been registering significant growth that reflected on the latest quarterly results of the parent company.

Today, Cash App has been topping the download charts in the US, according to the above tweet from the company, which sparked a large amount of reactions, many of which came from cryptocurrency enthusiasts.

It seems as if Cash App was not able to hold the 1st position on downloads number for too long, as this user reported. Regardless, the company reached a very important milestone.

Cash App is currently only available in the U.S., a geographical limitation that sparked the petitions of people from elsewhere in the world requesting to use it in their countries too, although it seems like most of them will have to wait.
