Nostrum, popular Spanish restaurant chain, to launch own crypto next year

It is being reported by Blockchain24 that popular Spanish restaurant and coffee chain, Nostrum, not only accepts cryptocurrency as payment but plans to launch its own ICO next year called Mealtoken.

Nostrum is a highly popular restaurant in not only Spain but other parts of Europe. This year they announced plans to accept Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies by the end of the year, but that wasn't all. The chain is also planning to bring out their own native crypto token, called Mealtoken. The token comes as a collaboration with CryptoFranchise, and the ICO will happen sometime next year.

This would definitely mark the first time that a restaurant has launched its own crypto. The goal of this effort is to try to bring more adoption for hybridized payment systems, allowing for more consumers to use whichever form of payment they choose.

In addition to the ICO, some of the Mealtokens will be distributed to the restaurant’s fanclub members. It seems this could be a nice step forward in adoption for crypto, assuming it goes well and other franchises follow suit.
