New York Stock Exchange chairman- crypto will definitely survive

According to business centered publication Barron’s, the head of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) has given crypto his blessing during the ongoing Consensus Invest, arguing that despite some significant downturns, digital assets’ survival is ‘Unequivocal.’

Jefferey Specher is the CEO of Intercontinental Exchange, the parent company of the NYSE and an entity whose developing crypto exchange Bakkt, a development which is being watched with a lot of anticipation. According to Cointelegraph, Specher took to the stage at the Consensus conference to voice optimism and assuredness regarding crypto’s survival, though said he was ‘agnostic to price,’ hedging his bets on a wildly volatile crypto market.

Sprecher’s diagnosis shouldn’t be particularly surprising given that while Bakkt’s launch is delayed, it is entering ‘phase 2’ of its roll out with high profile partnerships. Still, Sprecher’s words of encouragement are llikely comforting to a badly bruised crypto market, which has seen a marked downturn in the last few weeks.

Still Bakkt is on track for launch early next year, and is one of a number of crypto firms which are attempting to bring more discipline to digital trading. Specher said for example, that Bakkt’s introduction of self-regulated ‘futures contract will help Bitcoin traders establish a trusted price,’ instead of trading crypto at ‘different prices on different exchanges.’
