Coinbase Wallet announces support for Ethereum Classic

Popular San Francisco-based crypto exchange Coinbase has announced that their Coinbase Wallet now has support for Ethereum Classic (ETC), according to a blog post.

The post explains that the Wallet app should update “in the next few days,” after which users will be able to send and receive ETC. for existing users, their ETC addresses will remain the same as the current Ethereum (ETH) address.

The blog further states that with the addition of ETC, Coinbase will now support “all of the 100,000+ ERC20 tokens on the Ethereum blockchain.”

In June, Coinbase announced that it would be adding support for Ethereum Classic, but gave no specific timeline. Binance made a similar announcement at around the same time. The exchange confirmed sometime later that it was ready to roll out support for ETC on August 7.
