ETH devs held a meeting discussing about resolving scaling issues

A group of Ethereum developers are discussing solutions for the platform's scaling issues.

Ethereum is no longer the second biggest cryptocurrency in the market. Some people pointed that out to the failure of many irresponsible ETH-based ICO projects, which might be the case.

However, some others believe that the platform’s scaling issues are the ones that have been dragging the crypto down.

To find the solution, a group of ETH developers is reported to conduct a rendezvous, which was attended by Vitalik Buterin and Joseph Lubin themselves.

The “meeting” concluded the solution will be called “Ethereum 1x”, on which the involved developers refused to make further comments citing as “it is still too early stage”.

It’s also reported that the formation of 3 private development working groups are already on progress. Each group will be responsible for building a new mechanism that will replace Ethereum’s virtual machine in running smart contracts, discussing changes to smart contract costs, and simulating as well as benchmarking the changes.

According to The Next Web, the minutes of meeting state that the group will make efforts to work on the new upgrade more transparently, probably to respond to the criticism that “accused” Ethereum’s governance as centralized.

Interestingly though, Buterin is said to be a bit pessimistic regarding the introduction of “breaking changes” to the platform, while also stating that he’s uncomfortable with institutional private calls and absolutely against a private forum.
