Bakkt still on track for phase 2 partnerships with Starbucks, Microsoft

It is being reported by the Daily Hodl that upcoming institutional trading platform Bakkt is on track to move ahead with its "phase two" plans, which include partnerships with Microsoft as well as Starbucks.

Despite it being recently announced that Bakkt was going to be delaying the launch of its Bitcoin futures platform until next year, it is nonetheless still on track to partner with Microsoft and Starbucks in the next six months.

The partnership with Microsoft will see Bakkt utilizing their cloud storage solutions in order to bring their trading platform to the world. Microsoft is one of the industry leaders in cloud storage.

Bakkt also plans to team with Starbucks to create a system that will allow for crypto to fiat conversions to enable customers to pay with digital currency. Maria Smith, VP of partnerships and payments at Starbucks, is quoted in the article:

"As the flagship retailer, Starbucks will play a pivotal role in developing practical, trusted and regulated applications for consumers to convert their digital assets into US dollars for use at Starbucks."

It's great to see Bakkt moving forward with these plans as there is a real chance this could be a big push for broader adoption. If successful, this time next year you could be actually ordering coffee with crypto. Stick with Chepicap for all updates!
