H&M fashion brand uses VeChain to provide detail info of their products' origin

Fashion brand, H&M uses blockchain technology to provide detail info of their products, and their choice is VeChain.

The Swedish fashion brand, H&M recently announced the use of blockchain to provide a detailed info of their product, specifically for their clothing line, Arket.

The blockchain used in the pilot project is VeChain, which has been rumored on Twitter and Reddit long before the official announcement was made.

In a statement to The Next Web, the company confirmed the product used for the trial is a wool beanie from the Autumn 2018 collection.

Quoting the spokesperson, “Arket has done a small Proof of Concept (POC) through a pilot testing with VeChain to use blockchain technology to secure product data traceability in the value chain. The test was made on a wool beanie from the autumn 2018 collection.”

By scanning the product’s NFC chip, customers can access detailed info of the product, such as its origin, material, supplier, and so forth.

VeChain has been actively partnering with many parties from various industries ever since it’s launching its own mainnet last June. VET price has been reported to have tanked a couple of times without clear explanations in the past couple of months and it’s currently valued at $0.007 with -5.14% in the last 24 hours.
