Ledger launches digital asset custody service

Ledger partners with Nomura Holdings and Global Advisors to launch the digital asset custody service Komainu.

According to a press release by Nomura Holdings, Komainu will allow traders to invest in cryptocurrencies with the assurance that they are engaging in ‘compliant institutional investment’. Jez Mohideen, Global Chief Digital Officer at Nomura stated that : “Global investment managers have long been held back from full participation in digital asset markets, limited by operational and regulatory risk.” He added that Komainu will decrease the risk in such transactions.

Pascal Gauthier, President of Ledger, added that "by bringing together financial industry experts and digital asset security leaders, our new venture will provide, for the first time, services and solutions built for business.” Ledger has sold over a million Nano S wallets and aims to increase the compliance and security of cryptocurrencies by launching Komainu.
