Former Goldman Sachs banker Ian Taylor has been hired by Mike Novogratz’s Galaxy Digital to oversee the advisory service arm, known as Galaxy Digital Advisors LLC, Bloomberg reports.
Sources close to the matter, who have been asked not to be named because the information isn’t yet public, have stated that he will be joining before the end of the year to head up Galaxy Digital Advisors. The unit advises clients in the blockchain industry and includes services such as token raises, debt and equity private placements, mergers, and restructurings.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Taylor was the head of Goldman’s real estate, lodging and gaming equity capital markets for the Americas.
Novogratz, who himself is a former Goldman partner, stated once that he was trying to create the Goldman Sachs of the crypto sphere, but has since restructured his vision into becoming the Drexel Burnham Lambert of the industry.
Goldman Sachs has recently begun signing up customers for its Bitcoin derivative product.
