Good news for Binance users, system maintenance is complete and normal trading has resumed as of 9:30 AM (UTC) today.
The exchange shut down earlier today to allow for maintenance on backend systems. However, following issues with data synchronization, Binance tweeted that the exchange would remain offline for another six hours from the originally planned one hour. Chepicap reported the FUD that ensued due to the exchange’s failure to notify its Telegram group of the extended downtime.
CZ explained that the reason for the extended downtime was that three levels of resync are required due to the large dataset and complex distributed in-memory matching architecture.
Prior to the commencement of trading, users were able to cancel orders, process deposits, withdrawals, and use all another account-related functions.
Overall sentiment from the community was positive, despite the slip up with notifying the telegram channel.
