U.S Marshals Service set to auction over $4.2 million in Bitcoin

The US Marshals Service has announced the auction of 660 Bitcoins to the public. The auction will be held Monday, November 5, 2018, from 8:00 AM EST

The USMS assets forfeiture BTC sale was announced this week on the the US Marshals website. 

The auction will see 660 Bitcoin go to the highest bidder totalling an accumulated value of roughly $4.2 million. Bidders are required to submit a $200,000 bank wire deposit tothe US Marshals in order to participate in the auction. The auction is set to be broken into two parts. Series A will auction off 600 BTC with Series B auctioning off the remainder 60 BTC. 

The winners $200,000 deposit will go towards the purchase price with losers being refunded. Winners who cannot pay the winning fee will forfeit their $200,000. 

Bidder registration is opens: 8:00 AM EDT, Monday, October 22, 2018. Bidders need to complete the bidder registration form

The siezed BTC comes from over 30 cases involving a variety of different cases and crimes not directly specified.
