A Bitcoin investor in Norway was murdered after cashing out his investment to purchase an apartment.
A Norwegian Bitcoin investor was murdered in his apartment in Oslo last Monday, as reported by CCN. The incident happened after the man was reported to have cashed out his cryptocurrency investment to purchase a new apartment.
As a crypto investor, the victim is said to have made around $120,000 from his investment and plan to use it to purchase an apartment, which all of his friends were aware of as he used to discuss it with them.
The local authority’s investigation reported that the perpetrator was aware of a large amount of cash that the victim held and tried to enter the apartment through the window.
The victim seemed to find out about the unwanted visit and attempt to fight the robber, which led to him being stabbed more than 20 times to death.
Although, the head of intelligence and investigations unit refused to provide more information about the investigation, he reckoned the tip related to the victim’s Bitcoin investment.
As of press time, no arrests have been made and no suspects have been named.
This is not the first time for a crypto investor, particularly Bitcoin to suffer from physical crimes. A while ago, a developer who was a victim himself created a list of physical attacks related to Bitcoin to create public awareness.
