SEC launches new Fintech hub

Forbes reports that the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has recently launched a new dedicated fintech hub. It is designed to bring the SEC’s existing services to a single access point, and should improve access to crypto and blockchain technology.

Known as Finhub, this new venture will be led by Valerie A. Szczepanik, senior advisor for digital assets and innovation and associate director in the SEC’s Division of Corporation Finance, and will be staffed by representatives from different SEC divisions and offices with expertise and involvement in fintech-related issues.

The main aims of the project are to improve communication between companies and the public, and to enable faster construction and establishment of SEC-compliant blockchain platforms.

"We’ve been doing these things for years," said Szczepanik. "This is going to bring it all together."
