Steve Wozniak to use EquiTokens to take on venture capital industry

Verdict is now reporting that Steve Wozniak of Apple fame has been officially declared as a co-founder of EQUI Global, a company that hopes to use blockchain technology and crypto exchanges to change the way the venture capital industry works.

Essentially, what EQUI Global aims to do is to allow non-institutional investors the benefits of VC investing with the liquidity of crypto. How it works is that investors can purchase EquiTokens, which act like buying into a VC fund, but can be traded on major cryptocurrency exchanges which means increased liquidity and flexibility.

Wozniak expects other venture capital firms to follow a similar model and hopes for it to shake up the whole industry. He joins Doug Barrowman and Baroness Michelle Mone in founding this company. Their token, EquiToken, will be hosted on the Ethereum blockchain.

Wozniak is quoted in the article:

“Ultimately, our mission is to seek, support and fund the blockchain and tech stars of tomorrow. EQUI Global is a game-changer.”

This could bring investing to a larger audience, specifically the VC realm. If successful, it would mean customers could invest and trade in VC funds as easily as they do Bitcoin right now. Truly, an exciting development.
