The annual list of China’s richest people, published by Hurun Report, now features an appearance from several prominent cryptocurrency figures. An impressive feat, considering you need to earn at least $200 million in a year to be included.
Bitmain co-founder Micree Zhang made it to the top 100 of the list. His company manufactures cryptocurrency mining equipment and managed to rake in an impressive $2.4 billion this year. Fellow Bitmain co-founder Jihan Wu is a bit behind in 204th place. He made around $2.3 billion.
Chanpeng Zhao, founder and CEO of Binance, is on the last at 230th. He made roughly $2.1 billion. Binance recently announced that it will be donating all listing fees to charity. CZ believes it’s the quality of the project listed on the exchange that matters most, not how much they pay to be listed.
OKCoin founder Star Xu as well as head of Huobi, the world’s fifth largest cryptocurrency exchange also feature on the list.
Jack Ma, founder of the Alibaba Group claimed the number one spot with a net worth of around $39 billion.
