8500 people at Consensus 2018: approximately 17 million USD in ticket sales

Consensus 2018, the cryptocurrency and blockchain conference powered by Coindesk in New York, has attracted 8500 attendees. With tickets being sold roughly at $2000 per ticket according to CNBC, that means Consensus has earned approximately 17 million USD in ticket sales.

There are still tickets available for the conference being held from May 14 to May 16 in New York. During Consensus 2018, the fourth edition, industry professionals, investors and many projects will be present for talks and networking.

First it was expected that 4000 people would attend the conference, but at the start of the event it was announced that 8500 people have registered for Consensus 2018. Last year 2700 people attended the event. During the first event in 2015 only 400 people were present.

The conference is set to feature hundreds of speakers, including Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis President James Bullard, Twitter Inc. Chief Executive Officer Jack Dorsey and FedEx Corp. CEO Fredrick Smith. Throw into the mix a ton of afterparties, including one set to be hosted by popular payment firm Ripple. Snoop Dogg is set to play a secret location in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District.
